The Water Division is responsible for the improvement and maintenance of the Town’s forty-eight miles of water main and operates a water treatment facility at the Root Reservoir site. The water treatment facility is designed to treat an average day flow of 0.73 MGD and a peak flow of 1.4 MGD. There is also a pump station which allows Lenox to utilize water from the City of Pittsfield.
The daily responsibilities of water treatment and water distribution are tasks performed by the Divisions three members.
The Water Division is an “Enterprise Fund” which means it is designed to operate on funds received exclusively from rates and fees.
