Farmer’s Market Coupons
The Farmer’s Market Coupons will be available for pick-up on Monday, July 12th at three times and locations. Eligible Lenox elders can pick-up the coupons at Turnure Terrace from 9:30 am – 10:00 am, at the Curtis from 10:15 am – 11:15 am, and at the Community Center from 11:30 am –12:30 pm. Requirements for eligibility include: must be at least 60 years of age, and eligible for Food Stamps, SSI, Brown Bag, Mass Health or housing assistance. Applicants must sign for the coupons when they are picked up. They are to be used to purchase food items only at local Farmer’s Markets, and these coupons will be worth $30 again this year. The Lenox Farmer’s Market is open on Friday afternoons from 12-4 pm, and is located in town at Triangle Park, across from Hoff’s. Many of these vendors will
be accepting the coupons this year. Transportation to the Farmer’s Market at Berkshire Mall is available on Wednesday afternoons through the Council on Aging van. Please call 637-5535 to schedule a ride.
Coffee Hour with Mass. Registry of Motor Vehicles
In today’s world, driving a car may seem to be a necessary part of life, however, owning a vehicle and holding a driver’s license are privileges that come with a great deal of responsibility.
Join Michele Ellicks, Community Outreach Coordinator for the Registry of Motor Vehicles (RMV), on Monday, July 26th at 10:00 at the Lenox Council on Aging Coffee Hour at the Community Center for a free hour-long program entitled, Road Scholar. Ms. Ellicks will discuss the Commonwealth’s rules of the roads, recent changes that have taken place at the Registry of Motor Vehicles, as well as identify the necessary steps to apply for a handicap placard or plate, as well as a Massachusetts identification card. She will also share the most recent research concerning mature drivers and alternative forms of transportation. Learn what’s available in your community. Coffee and refreshments will be served, and everyone is welcome.
