The Lenox Volunteer EMS (Emergency Medical Service) provides the Town of Lenox and its visitors with professional emergency medical care and transportation on a 24hr/day 7day/week basis.  Lenox EMS is comprised of 23 volunteers, 1 full-time coordinator and 5 part-time EMT/firefighters including 3 EMT-Intermediates and 5 EMT-Paramedics.   Volunteer EMT’s respond jointly with full-time Firefighter/EMT’s to ensure timely response to all medical calls.

Lenox EMS hosts an Advanced Life Support ambulance licensed at the EMT-Intermediate level, which responded to an average of 700 calls in 2001 and 2002.  Lenox EMS instructors provide the Town of Lenox with first aid and CPR training for the public, police and fire personnel, town businesses, and other organizations.

The Lenox Ambulance provides EMS coverage for events such as the Josh Billings Run Aground, Lenox Apple Squeeze, April Fools Day Race, and Lenox Youth sports as well as Lenox Middle and High School sports. We offer a yearly scholarship to a deserving senior who is entering college to pursue a medical related career.

The Lenox Volunteer EMS is financially self-sufficient.  All costs associated with the ambulance including the purchase of new ambulances and equipment are funded by fees generated through ambulance transports and not through the town taxpayers.  Lenox EMS is always looking for new members who have the heart and desire to help keep this community safe.
