The Town Accountant’s office manages the Town’s internal and external financial reporting function. This includes preparing payroll and expenditure warrants; examining all bills and payrolls for compliance with approved appropriations and contracts. The Town Accountant’s office is also responsible for reconciling cash and accounts receivable balances with the Town Treasurer and Town Collector.
This office maintains timely and accurate accounting records which enable the Town to issue financial reports for both internal and external use, including the preparation of state reports. Coordination of the annual financial and compliance audit with the independent auditors is an additional responsibility of this office.
The Town Accountant’s office assists the Town Manager with the preparation of the annual Town budget.
