VISIT

TOWN HISTORY

EVENTS

Spring, summer, autumn or winter – we have so much to offer, it is no wonder Lenox is a destination that draws hundreds of thousands of visitors a year. Whether it’s your first visit or 5oth, you’ll find many reasons to return again and again. We welcome your visit anytime.

Centrally located in the region, Lenox is a great place to stay. Our award-winning lodgings offer an unparalleled world-class range of choices, from family-friendly motels to exclusive spas and resorts properties. Well known for its restaurants, Lenox is at the center of the locally-grown food movement (check out Berkshire Grown for more info on our region’s farms). The summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra is Tanglewood, which spans both Lenox and Stockbridge and attracts fans of great classical and contemporary  music to the region. Not-to-miss gilded-age jewels of Lenox are The Mount, Edith Wharton’s Home, with over 50 beautiful acres, 2 gardens, and an historic home and museum, and Ventfort Hall, a lovingly restored property with a fascinating history reaching back to the civil war.

Pleasant Valley Wildlife Sanctuary is a property of Mass Audubon.

If you are a city-dweller seeking a peaceful walk in the woods and a bit of fresh air, make sure to visit Pleasant Valley Wildlife Sanctuary – a property of Mass Audubon. With miles of extensive trails through a 1300 acre wilderness, it offers views, forests, wetlands, rare species, and terrain both friendly and challenging for walkers and hikers.

Kennedy Park – a town conservation property for miles of trails – is easily accessed from downtown Lenox by a moderate walk up past the Church on the Hill or via trail access from the Arcadian Shop parking lot. Trails here are open to dogs, mountain bikes, XC Skiers and snowshoers in the winter and is a great place for a traffic-free run. Maps are available at the Lenox Visitors Center.

Want to climb to the stars? At 3,491 feet, Mt. Greylock is the highest peak in the state. With more than 50 miles of hiking trails and most summit trails with 2,000+ foot ascents, Mt. Greylock State Reservation ranks up there with any hiking destination in the Northeast. However, unlike many high peaks in the northeast, Mt. Greylock’s summit is also home to a rustic 1930’s lodge constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps. You can even sleep and eat there!

When Edible Manhattan visited Lenox, they said it best, “Without exception, every establishment I visited was remarkable, offering up vibrant, world-class meals in an idyllic rural setting.”

If you find yourself in downtown Lenox, there are several great choices, all within walking distance of eachother. Try Brava, a European-style tapas restaurant and wine bar. Don’t overlook their bruschetta and fantastic pizzas! Any choice pairs well with a glass of craft beer or wine. Pizzeria Boema offer sophisticated and seasonal creations, with vegan options.

At Alta Restaurant and Wine Bar, you can choose from an extensive wine list of over 20 wines by the glass and top-tier, mediterranean-inspired cuisine. Enhance the experience by ordering a cheese platter with a selection of cheeses from local farms. A few doors down, Firefly has delicious food and live music on Fridays and Saturdays.

Try out more local favorites such as Frankie’s Ristorante, Olde Heritage Tavern, Haven Cafe Bakery (for a great brunch!) and Prime. For grab-and-go meals and organic produce, visit Loeb’s Foodtown. For those slightly cool spring and summer nights, visit Ophelia’s at The Whitlock, sit in front of the fire pit with friends, sip a cocktail, and enjoy fare from their Bites menu. Stroll over to Sweet Dreams for a tasty treat of cookies or ice cream.

  • This week's member spotlight: Antimony Brewing!

"Antimony Brewing is a scratch kitchen and craft brewery located in the Lenox Commons on Route 20 - we couldn't be happier with the reception we've received from customers and our Lenox neighbors. Night after night (and day after day - we are open for lunch too!) we get to meet locals and tourists who are thrilled to find this new great food and beer option in the area. After searching for a location to set up our long dreamed of brewery, we consider ourselves very lucky to have landed in Lenox.

Having another restaurant in Lee (51 Park), we had watched the Lenox Chamber from afar and were impressed - so when we set up shop here, it was a no-brainer to be a part of the organization. From their highly effective promotion of local businesses to the events they produce to bring new people to town, we're thrilled to be a member.

After a fantastic first year in business, we look forward to working more with the chamber in their continued efforts to make Lenox a must-stop destination for anyone visiting the Berkshires!"

Visit Antimony Brewing at 55 Pittsfield Rd, Lenox MA and celebrate their upcoming One Year Anniversary on May 30th!
